Want to become a fishig guide?
$450.00 per person for the weekend apply for all three weekends to become a certified guide. Upon completion of 9 days you will be a certified guide with 50 hours of rowing experience that is required for jmobs in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Idaho and Alaska.

If you love fishing and want fo get paid to do it everyday. This is the place to start!
3 Days of Instruction
Days will be long so food and lodging is provided bunk house or camping. Bring fishing gear you will be fishing everyday. Must be physical fit to row a boat in fast water. Those that complete all three weekends will be given a full certificate of guide completion with 50 hours of boat training and a possible job with Firl Outfitters.

Fly fishing and scenic river tours
River Fishing on Drift Boats
Float down the river and catch small mouth bass, northern pike, muskey and trout. Roll down class II rapids with ease. The river will leave you breathless with memories that will last a lifetime.
500.00 half day/650.00 for a full day
Fly Fishing Lessons by the hour!
Do you want to learn how to fly fish? We do one on one lessons or bring a friend. We start on the lake and we start catching fish right away. We provide all the gear for you to get started and you pay by the hour. 60.00 an hour
Scenic Float Trips
Float the scenic Oconto River! This is for a group of 6 or less. Look for wildlife, swim or just sit back and relax as you drift along the flow of the water. Your guide will have educational information about the landscape and the wildlife you spot together.
50.00 per person or 300.00 private
2 days fishing 1 night stay
Fish two days and stay at our newly constructed lodge for one night. 1200.00

Meet The Guides
Johnny Buser
I started Firl Outfitters because I am passionate about fly fishing. Growing up in Winneconne, WI, fishing was not just a pastime, it was a way of life, a food source for your family and the community around you. I took that passion to the west where I studied mountain rivers and lakes. As a guide and a student of mother nature for 16 years I took every opportunity to get off the ranch and off my horse to fish the areas around me, including Wyoming, Utah, California, and Montana. Although my Grandpa Buser was the fishing guide and everyday outdoorsman it was my Grandpa Firle who inspired my love of fly fishing. He once said that in order to be a complete fisherman, you need to study your surroundings, and the science and the art of this sport. The easiest way to do this is with a fly rod in your hand. I couldn't agree more. I love all the aspects of fly fishing, and even when the fish have exhausted your patience, the meditation of your cast will leave you feeling whole again.....even if it was just one good cast that day...lol

I’m a Wisconsin native, I‘ve had a pole in my hand for as long as I can remember fishing with my dad and uncle. I love fishing just as much as I love showing others to fish. Guiding has always been a dream of mine. I'm an avid trout fisherman that knows just about every stream and river in Wisconsin. The river is a magical place to be and I can’t wait to share it with you. I can’t wait to be your guide!
